The Tanawsri Mountain range to the west of the province are formed from limestone. As such, they are home to several spectacular caves - some are home to bat colonies. Bats are nocturnal, and are a spectacular site as they emerge from the caves - swarming out in their search for food. One of the main caves for visitors, is the Khao Bin.
Ratchaburi occupies an area of 5,196 square kilometres and is administratively divided into nine districts: Muang Ratchaburi, Photharam, Damnoen Saduak, Pak Tho, Chom Bueng, Bang Phae, Wat Phleng , Suan Phueng, and Ban Pong, and one sub-district: King Amphoe Ban Kha.
